Article 4 Update

Consultation undertaken by the council was very close but inconclusive. It has been proposed that each road will be re-consulted on an individual basis. There is no further news on this.

Adoption of Accounts

Subs this year £592 mainly due to the increase in subs. However membership has fallen slightly.

Public Liability is still the major cost, closely followed by photocopying and planting. Next year we will try for bulbs in the lawn on the triangle.

On the events we broke even except the fish and chip supper where we made a few pounds. This allowed us to fund the Christmas carol wine and mince pies.

The general fund increased to £1,690.63 from £1,607.97. The fund has been gradually increasing since 2002 when the Jubilee celebrations were funded.

The major item of expenditure was again public liability insurance. Other significant expenditure was £127.51 for planting and maintenance of the estate, £68.89 for photocopying and £75.28 for refreshments at the road stewards evening.

Income increased to £591.00 from £510.00. This is however due to a £0.50 increase in the subscription with the number of members falling slightly.

A £350.00 donation was made to Grangewood School.  This was more than the welfare collection from residents with £26.70 being made up from a proportion of the £0.50 increase in subscriptions The AGM voted to retain Grangewood school as our nominated charity for 2007,2008 and 2009.

The events made a small profit of £10.49. The Fish and chip quiz was very popular making a small profit of £50.38 which subsidised the small losses on other events including the £20.94 cost of refreshments provided to the Christmas Carol singers.

The accounts were adopted by the meeting.
