This is a brochure that was released in the mid-1930's to sell the first houses built upon the Estate by Comben & Wakelin. It makes for fond reading - particularly if one has lived in Eastcote for some years! - References to Eastcote as a 'Health Resort' might be stretching things a bit now - and probably even then! However, Eastcote was an under-populated area at that time and in the earlier part of the 20th century London-dwellers did indeed travel out to the Halt that has become Eastcote Station, to spend time picnicking at the Cavendish Pavilion and grounds and to enjoy the surrounding countryside.

There are plenty of books available that give more history of Eastcote and its constituent parts.  As I get time I will add a bibliography of local history and other books pertinent to the area.

This is the front cover, please click on the links below the page to view other pages with details of the houses being offered for sale at the time that the Estate was being created.
