AUTUMN EVENT

The Fish and Chip Quiz evening will be on Friday November 18th 2011.
The event will take place at St. Thomas More Church Hall.
A separate flyer is attached to the October newsletter
JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

We confirm the intention to have a street party on 5th June 2012 to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee (60 years) and our Associations 75th an-niversary. Following the item in the last newsletter initial planning has continued and we are intending to have the event with limited road clo-sures around the area of St Lawrence Drive between The Glen and Rodney Gardens. More de-tails on this to follow in due course as we firm up on ideas.
Would anyone interested in helping out with planning, preparation or on the day please contact a committee member as soon as possible. The success of the day and the extent of activi-ties will be largely dependent on volunteers com-ing forward to assist the committee in making this a day to remember. We would hope to have planning meetings early in 2012 so please let us know if you are interested in helping so we can arrange appropriate venues for any necessary planning meetings.
PHOTOGRAPHY
There are a few pictures on the
Photography page. Please let me have any
interesting photos that could go onto this web site, particularly from the
early years of the Estate (webmaster@eastcoteparkestate.org.uk)
CONSERVATION AREA
Hillingdon Council has declared the Estate to be a Conservation Area. Details
of the change and its implications should have been received by all residents.
The full 'Conservation Area Appraisal' document can be viewed by clicking:
Conservation Area Appraisal.
EASTCOTE SOCIAL HISTORY
A cutting from the Pinner & Rickmansworth Recorder of June 25th 1987.
It reports the publication of "Eastcote, from Village to Suburb,
A Short Social History 1900-1945" by Ron Edwards.
Sadly, this fascinating little book is no longer in print.
If we can get permission, we'll try to reproduce it on this website.
"EASTCOTE HOUSE GROUNDS"
This 1981
document has been added to the site. The quality is fairly poor but it is still
fascinating. If anyone has a better quality copy, please let me know (webmaster@eastcoteparkestate.org.uk).
The photo of the house was really poor, so I have replaced it with a better
one. It would be useful if someone knowledgeable could check the tree list and
update it where necessary.
WELCOME LETTER
If you are a newcomer to the Estate then a warm welcome. Please click here
to read the welcome letter from the Committee.
Image Files & Download times
Please note that some images may take a while to download. This is because some of the the images are taken from original documents, and even third-generation copies, and I do not want to compromise the picture quality (especially for those wishing to print the documents) by reducing the sizes further. I will continue to look at enhancing the pages and content of the site over the coming months.
